    Mother and child toys online shopping report: International sales accounts for more than 90 percent

     

    May 10th – Amazon China joined with Mattel, Lego, AVENT, Mead Johnson, Britax and other international brands and released " 2017 Infant and Child Toys Online Shopping Consumer White Paper ", which analyzed consumer trends in infant and child toy category. According to Shuzi Yibai (数字一百, translates to ‘Digi[tal] 100’ in English), a third-party research agency, 70% of the people began to buy international brands of infant and child toy products. Consumers are shifting towards emphasizing brand in the conventional food and supplies for infants and children categories, and such trend has entered a stabilization phase. These research findings are backed by Amazon China’s sales data in infant and child toy category. Since January of 2016, 90% of sales revenue in Amazon China’s toy category is generated from international brands, and the ratio is as high as 95% in the infant and child supplies category. According to the data, Chinese consumers’ top ten favorite brands for infant and child supplies are: PIGEON, Wyeth, Philips AVENT, Merries, GOO.N, Mead Johnson, Ergobaby , BabyBjorn , MOONY , and SKIP HOP; and the top ten most popular toy brands are: LEGO, Fisher-Price, B.
